Last night (July 28th), Lorna Shore did something that no band has before — they brought deathcore to Lollapalooza. The blackened extreme-metal band headlined the BMI Stage of the massive Chicago festival that mostly features pop, rap and alternative rock acts, and judging by a bunch of fan-filmed videos shared on social media, it looks like the New Jersey deathcore rising stars played to an utterly packed-out crowd filled with metalheads and normies alike.
"There was 30 people at this stage all day until Lorna Shore," wrote one Twitter user alongside video of the band playing to what appears to be several thousand people. "For real though, Lorna Shore was insane yesterday," wrote another fan who was on the scene. "Lots of first timers hearing some deathcore, too."
For deathcore as a genre, this is a historic milestone. See crushing footage of the band's set below.
