See Lzzy Hale Join Mongolia's the HU in Triumphant New "Song of Women" Video

Halestorm singer teams with viral folk-metal sensations

Mongolian folk-metal horde the HU are one of the biggest breakout hard-rock successes of the last few years, a status that the group will be celebrating with the release of a deluxe edition of their acclaimed album, The Gereg. Due in July, the reissue includes three re-worked songs featuring big-name guest artists: Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix, From Ashes to New's Danny Case and, on a new version of "Song of Women," Halestorm's Lzzy Hale. Today, the HU unveiled the music video for the last of those, a high-octane performance clip, starring Hale, that was filmed prior to the coronavirus quarantine.

"I'm so thankful to the HU for welcoming me, my words and my melody into this song," Hale commented. "I can count on less than one hand the number of times where a project has changed the course of my spirit and renewed my faith in humanity. This was one of those projects. I'm still levitating."

The collaboration is just the latest in a string of high-profile endeavors for the HU. Perhaps the most remarkable entry in that string took place in late 2019, when the self-described "hunnu-rock" band staked their claim on "a galaxy far, far away," contributing the song "Sugaan Essena" to the Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The HU not only wrote the original tune specifically for the game, but they also penned its lyrics in a fictional language authentic to Star Wars, created with the guidance of Lucasfilm and Respawn.
