See Machine Head Shred Through "Davidian" at 'Burn My Eyes' Tour Kickoff

Band unleashed fan favorites, classic cuts at "evening with"-style show on October 5th in Germany

Machine Head's extensive tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band's landmark album Burn My Eyes kicked off Saturday, October 5th in Freiburg, Germany, and fans got more than just a run-through of the album during the full evening with Robb Flynn and his musical colleagues.

The night was split into two sets, the first of which featured new members — Decapitated guitarist Vogg Kiełtyka  and Devilment drummer Matt Alston — for a performance that incorporated material from throughout the band's career.

Set #1:

Imperium
Take My Scars
Now We Die
Beautiful Mourning
Clenching the Fists of Dissent
Locust
I Am Hell (Sonata in C#)
Aesthetics of Hate
Guitar Solo

Halo

For the second set, Flynn brought out his original two Burn My Eyes–era bandmates, Logan Mader and Chris Kontos, to perform that debut album in full, with "Realize, Real Eyes, Real Lies" being played on tape as the group's walk-out anthem rather than an album interlude. The trio were well-practiced, having re-recorded the album together earlier this year in a series of in-studio performances filmed in California. See fan-filmed footage of "Davidian" above, and watch the band play "The Rage to Overcome" (its first performance since 2004) alongside the track "Halo" (from the band's 2007 effort The Blackening) below.

Machine Head also just announced the North American dates for the Burn My Eyes run. See those below, and score tickets when they go on sale this Friday, October 11th, here.
