See Machine Head's Pulverizing Performance of "Davidian" on French TV in 1994

Robn Flynn and Co. brought 'Burn My Eyes' opener to 'Nulle Part Ailleurs'

On August 9th, 1994, Machine Head released their debut album, Burn My Eyes, via Roadrunner Records. An unfuckwithable Nineties groove-metal classic, it hit hard right from the start with one of heavy metal's great opening cuts: "Davidian." As bandleader Robb Flynn revealed in 2019, the song originally had the cringey chorus "Get the fuck up to the bone-breaking groove" before he replaced it with the immortal refrain "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!"

While promoting Burn My Eyes, Machine Head took "Davidian" to the prime-time French television series Nulle Part Ailleurs, which presented memorable performances by Nirvana, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage and many others over the years. Flynn and his headbanging bandmates absolutely steamrolled the show — in particularly stunning fashion considering the contrastingly straight-laced and sanitized demeanor of the hosts and in-studio audience.
