See Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie Discuss First Time They Heard Each Other's Music

Duo revisits halcyon days of touring in vans, shoplifting, pissing on Korn's catering

This summer, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie are teaming up for the Twins of Evil: Second Coming tour. Earlier this month, they released goofy clips of the two of them trying to record a tour promo correctly, and today they've put out a new video discussing the first time they each discovered the other's music. Manson recounts shoplifting White Zombie albums from the record store he was working at, but enjoying the band so much he later bought the God of Thunder album on vinyl. Manson cites the music as a bridge for him between industrial and metal, paving the way for his own output in many ways.

On the flipside, Zombie recounts playing in Florida when his former band was in its van days, and hearing about Manson from his drummer. He would later catch Manson opening for Danzig in 1996, a tour during which, the Antichrist Superstar claims, he pissed on Korn's catering. Zombie says he could see at that show that Manson was inspired and creative, and it was obvious why he and his band stood out.
