See Mastodon Dance With the Devil in New "More Than I Could Chew" Video

Vivid clip directed by Zev Deans

"More Than I Could Chew," track No. 4 on Mastodon's Hushed and Grim, is one of the highlights of the ambitious 2021 double album, a roiling, sludgy anthem that incorporates elements spanning the Atlanta's metal band's two-decade-plus career. Today (July 12th), the group unveiled the new music video for the song, which was created by Zev Deans, who has previously conjured up particularly striking visuals for Ghost, Behemoth, St. Vincent, Denzel Curry and many more.

The "More Than I Could Chew" video follows suit, bringing the song to life with vivid imagery involving the devil, a woman and a Garden of Eden-like field of red poppies. Emblazoned in searing primary colors, this footage contrasts with distorted, surreal clips of the band playing live as if in some alternate dimension. Watch the stunning, allegorical video above.
