Gone is Gone — the metal supergroup featuring members of Mastodon, Queens of the Stone Age and At the Drive-In — have shared a stunning visual for "Phantom Limb," a highlight off last year's EP of the same name. Directed by Bryan Bankovich, the visual resembles an ever-shifting watercolor painting, flush with bright blues and vibrant reds. We also get some shots of Sanders floating out to sea and diving beneath the waves, creating an air of aqueous mystery, referred to by bassist Troy Sanders as "a tale of seek and find."
"We shot this in one beautiful day amongst the ruins of Fort Dade on the isolated island of Egmont Key, in the Gulf of Mexico," Sanders says of the video. "It was filmed with our good friends at Newmerica, which was once again a most pleasurable experience." Some might call a getaway; Gone Is Gone just call it another day at work.
Gone is Gone have stayed relatively quiet since releasing Phantom Limb earlier this year. The band's last show took place on February 8th as part of an art exhibition and silent auction benefiting the children's nonprofit Smile + Wonder. The supergroup's debut album, Echolocation, came out in 2016.
