See MAX CAVALERA join MR. BUNGLE for SEPULTURA's "Territory"

A well-known man speaks to Sonic Temple Festival

While Mr. Bungle's set at the Sonic Temple Festival this weekend found the genre-fusionists digging deep into their own back catalog, they also turned to the mighty Max Cavalera to help them get through a cover of Sepultura's eternally slamming "Territory."

The Friday (May 17th) evening performance in Columbus, Ohio, found the Brazilian metal master sharing the stage with Bungle, though he naturally took the lead for the Chaos A.D. classic. The group dug into the groove pretty hard, with vocalist Mike Patton, and guitarists Trey Spruance and Scott Ian most-often howling out the chorus' iconic "war for territory." They've apparently gotten pretty good at this, having previously covered the song with Cavalera at a show in Hollywood last year.

You can see footage of the killer Sonic Temple collab — from fans, as well as via Ian's official Instagram account — both above and down below.

Earlier in the afternoon, Cavalera had manned the same stage with the long-running Soulfly. This spring find him and his brother, drummer Iggor, revisiting the Sepultura catalog through a full-album re-recording of 1987's Schizophrenia. Cavalera Conspiracy's latest modern times makeover is due out June 21st via Nuclear Blast.

Soulfly likewise have plans to put out a "big-groove" album sometime in the near future.
