The highly anticipated "I Am The Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell" all-star concert did not disappoint last night (January 16th). Among the many big names that came out — Metallica, Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Josh Homme, Jack Black and Brad Pitt, among many others — Northwest grunge/sludge cult heroes the Melvins had possibly the lowest profile, but in typical fashion, they made up for it by bringing some of the highest volume and heaviest riffage. King Buzzo and Co. capped off their show-starting mini-set with a raucous cover of Soundgarden's "Spoonman," amping up the unhinged energy of the original, bringing it all to a noisy, chaotic close. Check out fan-shot footage above and below.
