Last night (September 24th), Metallica hit New York City's Central Park, playing a hits-packed eight-song mini-set as the concluding act of the 10th annual Global Citizen Festival, hosted Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Otherwise, the event — which aimed to bring together artists, activists, philanthropists, corporate leaders and more to take action to end extreme poverty — featured the very pop-dominated lineup of Mariah Carey, the Jonas Brothers, Charlie Puth, Rosalia, Måneskin and Mickey Guyton.

Introduced by Priyanka as "the greatest rock band in the world," Metallica — who previously played Global Citizen Fest in 2016 — kicked their set off with "Creeping Death" and closed it with their Stranger Things hit, "Master of Puppets." Watch below. (Note: The band's performance of "Nothing Else Matters" with Mickey Guyton does not appear in the rebroadcast.)

Metallica, Global Citizen Festival 2022 setlist:

For Whom the Bell Tolls
