See Metallica Play "Metal Militia" for First Time in 6 Years

'Kill 'Em All' classic resurfaced during encore at Pinkpop

Metallica's "Metal Militia" is a formative early thrash classic, a call to arms for the headbanging true believers to rally together and spread the faith. As awesome as it is, the band hadn't played the Kill 'Em All standout for a while — six long years, to be exact.

That drought ended on June 17th, when the Four Horsemen hit the Pinkpop festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, and kicked off their encore with, you guessed it, "Metal Militia." The performance marked the first time Metallica had broken out the cut since a December 15th, 2016 show at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre. Even better, there wasn't a spot of rust to be seen. Watch them kill it all above.
