See Metallica Play "Nothing Else Matters" With Mickey Guyton at Global Citizen Fest

Country music artist previously covered song on 'The Metallica Blacklist' album

This past Saturday (September 24th), Metallica closed the 10th annual Global Citizen Festival in NYC's Central Park with a hits-packed eight-song set that opened with "Creeping Death" and wrapped with their Stranger Things hit, "Master of Puppets." The philanthropic event, hosted Priyanka Chopra Jonas, featured the otherwise very pop-dominated lineup of Mariah Carey, the Jonas Brothers, Charlie Puth, Rosalia, Måneskin and country music artist Mickey Guyton.

The last of these notably covered Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" on 2021's The Metallica Blacklist compilation, which collected wide-ranging takes on songs off the metal stalwarts' smash Black Album. At Global Citizens Fest, she reprized her rendition, joining Metallica themselves to sing the classic power ballad. "So much love for @metallica and their incredible team," Guyton later tweeted. "Last night was a moment I'll never forget." Watch fan-filmed footage of the collaboration above, and check out the studio version of her cover below.
