See Metallica Rip Through "Battery" Live in Tokyo in Rare 1986 Clip

Footage appears on Big Four thrashers' upcoming 'Master of Puppets' reissue

Metallica have shared a previously-unshared performance video capturing a feverish run-through of their Master of Puppets opener "Battery." The thrilling, if slightly fuzzy, footage was filmed during the Big Four thrashers' November 17th, 1986, show at Aichi Kinro Kaikan in Nagoya, Japan, amidst the Asian leg of the group's "Damage, Inc." tour. It's one of several rarities featured on a DVD that's exclusive to the remastered deluxe box set and 3xCD versions of Metallica's upcoming Master of Puppets reissue.

Metallica's throwback "Battery" clip follows their recently unearthed live take on "Whom the Bell Tolls," another deluxe exclusive from the upcoming release. The package, which hits shelves November 10th, collects the remastered album (both on vinyl and CD), concert recordings from 1984-85 (including a live album on cassette), interviews, demos, rough mixes, reproductions of lyrics, and more. You can pre-order it here.
