Metallica are celebrating the release week of their newest album, 72 Seasons, with a four-night residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On Monday night's (April 10th) performance, they busted out the album's lead single, "Lux Æterna," and sat down with Kimmel for a chat about Stranger Things, "Master of Puppets" and more. Last night (April 11th), they did something a little different and played a classic from their back-catalog, "Holier Than Thou."

The "Black Album" highlight sounded great and the audience was clearly eating up the opportunity to see Metallica play a track like that in a TV studio setting. Watch above via YouTube.

Metallica's run on Kimmel will air on ABC through Thursday April 13th, and will feature "four live performances, one night of chatting on the couch, and whatever fun Jimmy has in store for us." On Monday night's airing, Kimmel revealed that the band would be playing "Master of Puppets" on Wednesday night's broadcast, so fans have that to look forward to tonight.

72 Seasons is out Friday April 14th, 2023 via the band's own Blackened Recordings. You can pre-order it here.
