A couple of weeks ago, we asked you the question, "Who is the greatest live band of all time?" In the thousands of answers we were sent, Metallica scored pretty highly. It's because to this day, the band completely melts the stage, as seen in this new live video they've posted of "Creeping Death" from their current WorldWired tour.
The classic song from 1984's Ride the Lightning still inspires frenetic crowd participation: from the "whoa ohs!" of the intro to the mid-song "Die! Die! Die!" chants. The video gives a sense of the sheer scale of what their tour is like from the perspective of the stage. Each member of the band has a ton of room to move around, light boxes above them flash a hellish red, and fire goes off intermittently. It's a sight to behold, and a reminder of why they're one of the best bands doing it today.
