During a recent Milan, Italy stop on their never-ending World Wired Tour, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett was so busy tearing up the wicked solo on "Moth Into Flame," he failed to notice the wah pedal his foot was perched on and manipulating was slippery from the excessive rain falling.

In a video posted to Instagram by the thrasher himself (see below), a camera mounted to the pedal board shows the moment when the musically immersed Hammett makes a slight misstep and tumbles onto his backside before leaning in and rolling onto his back before popping back up while still playing, smile firmly on his face. (This isn't the first Hammett tumble caught on video, and at least he didn't get mocked by Lars Ulrich this time.)

"Ummm- I slipped on my wet wah pedal. It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower," captioned the guitarist, adding joking hashtags #slipperywhenwet and #wahwahwah to poke fun at himself. He included a second angle video as well, this time from behind looking out over the crowd, with expertly timed slow-down effects to really highlight the comedy of it all. A gentle ribbing ensued in the comment section, with Slayer's Gary Holt noting, "EPIC!" and Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx going in with "Happens." See the full video below.
