On May 26th, 2018, Mike Patton — vocalist of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and many other bands — performed three songs in Italy with Uri Caine, a renowned classical and jazz pianist and composer. With Caine on the keys, Patton held the mic before a table of effects as the two of them performed absolutely deranged covers of Randy Newman's "Short People," Mr. Bungle's "Retrovertigo" and, best of all, Slayer's definitive thrash epic "Raining Blood."

Any fan of Patton knows that he's one of the most avant-garde and downright bizarre vocalists in metal history, but hearing him switch between half-a-dozen different singing approaches — screams, squeaks, grunts, growls and straight-up beatboxing — while another man plays a freewheeling piano take on a song about blood pouring from the sky has to be one of the zaniest moments of his career.
