See Mike Patton Down Wings, Deliver Sweltering Dead Cross Performance

Faith No More frontman learns secret to perfect wings in new "First We Feast" special

As a consolation prize for the millions of Super Bowl viewers kicking themselves for tuning into Justin Timberlake's befuddling (and for fans of the late, great Prince, borderline offensive) halftime performance, here's a game-day highlight you might have overlooked: First We Feast's PBR Halftime Show, featuring a riotous performance from the Mike Patton-fronted hardcore band Dead Cross and, of course, buffalo wings.

Before taking the stage with the supergroup (whose ranks also include former members of Slayer, the Locust and others) Patton participated in a Super Bowl-themed cooking demo, learning the secrets to great wings. "I'm not a wing guy at all," the vocalist admits at the start of the video; still, he keeps his mind (and stomach) open. Judging by the blissful look on his face when he finally digs in, it's safe to say Patton's been wholly converted.

Elsewhere during the PBR Halftime show, rapper Machine Gun Kelly participated in "Hot Ones," the infamous First We Feast segment that finds artists juggling interview questions with incredibly spicy wings. Later, he delivered an equally sweltering performance. Check him out in the middle chunk of the 31-minute special, streaming now. (Patton's wing feast can be seen at the start of the video; skip ahead to the 25:40 mark for Dead Cross' set.)
