Royal Thunder singer leads wrathful take on "Wrecking Ball"

Royal Thunder bandleader Mlny Parsonz was a recent guest on "Two Minutes to Late Night," the heavy metal-themed "talk show" from NYC creative studio Mrs. Woman. The powerhouse singer joined host Gwarsenio Hall and the house band – vocalist/guitarist Stephen Brodsky (Cave In), Ben Koller (Converge), and bassist Nick Cageao, otherwise known as the metalcore trio Mutoid Man – for a stormy, atonal take on Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball."

Those who doubted the cvlt potential of the 2013 Bangerz smash are in for a serious (w)reckoning: earworm hooks aside, Parsonz and Co.'s reinterpretation (one of three recorded for the show; the other two have yet to be released) prove equally disturbing and dissonant, drowning the familiar chorus in a Southern-metal swamp.

Royal Thunder and Mutoid Man both released new albums in 2017. Back in April, the Atlanta hard-rock outfit dropped their fourth-full length, Wick; the other group's latest, War Moans, came out in June.
