Some days you're just a cog in the machine; others you get pushed to the edge and finally come crashing down in exasperation. That's exactly the situation at hand for members of Long Island's self-described "aggressive progressive" outfit Moon Tooth in their latest video. The visual accompanies new single "Awe at All Angles," a groove-laden track rife with frustration, riffs and a celebratory, soaring overtone.
Different vignettes show the quartet tackling all sorts of miserable situations: boring, doomed relationships are confronted and left, a barking customer in a coffee shop gets a faceful of iced brew after demanding one too many specifications, and a banker behind a desk is pushed to physically assaulting a rude customer after having a pile of change dumped on his desk. Having told all these respective bad times to fuck off, the bandmates get together by the video's end for some raucous motorcycle riding and a high-energy performance of the triumphant song.
"Awe at All Angles" is taken from Moon Tooth's upcoming second record, Crux. Their 2016 debut, Chromaparagon, stirred up quite a bit of acclaim, eventually gaining over a million streams on Spotify and saw the band play their 400th show with underground heroes Intronaut and Fit for an Autopsy. If the snappy groove and heartfelt zeal present on this latest track, the burgeoning group is on its way to even greater success.
Pre-orders for Crux are available via Bandcamp. See the group's upcoming tour dates, both solo and supporting Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton on his current solo tour, below.
