Rare cover only available on CD until now

There was a helluva lotta mutual respect between Motörhead and Metallica, the latter of whom cited Lemmy Kilmister and Co. among their biggest influences and covered many of their songs over the years, from "Overkill" to "Damage Case." Motörhead returned the favor and even won a 2004 Grammy for their take on Metallica's "Whiplash."

That wasn't the only time the U.K. punk-metal pioneers covered their thrash acolytes, however. Motörhead also recorded a lesser-known rendition of smash Black Anthem opener "Enter Sandman," for an ECW Wrestling compilation in 1998, the track unavailable except on that CD release until now.

Today (May 8th), a.k.a. Motörhead Day, the "Enter Sandman" cover has finally gotten wide release, and with it an badass new animated video. Produced by Mulberry Creative, the entertaining clip follows a child plagued by the evil sandman in his nightmares — until he's saved by Motörhead's iconic mascot, Warpig. Watch and listen above.

Motörhead's version of "Enter Sandman" can be streamed on all major digital music platforms now. There's also an exclusive, limited edition 7-inch single with etched Warpig B-side with exclusive merch and bundles, available in the official Motörhead store while stocks last!
