Mr. Bungle's 2020 streaming event, "The Night They Came Home," was a jam-packed affair. In addition to playing songs from last year's album, The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo, the special featured guest cameos, behind-the-scenes footage and a few awesome cover songs, most notably a whipping thrash-metal rendition of Van Halen's "Loss of Control."

Next month, Mr. Bungle will release the whole bonanza as a joint live album and concert film, and today they're giving fans a taste of what's in store by sharing that aforementioned tribute to the late, great Eddie Van Halen.

Another element that made "The Night They Came Home" so special was that the original Mr. Bungle crew — singer Mike Patton, guitarist Trey Spruance and bassist Trevor Dunn — were joined by their recent heavy-hitting additions, Anthrax's Scott Ian and Slayer's Dave Lombardo. That gaggle of metal heroes made for one of the tightest possible Mr. Bungle lineups imaginable, and their collective talents really shine through on this badass Van Halen ripper.

The ever-charismatic Patton nailed the squeaky vocal parts, but the real power of the song comes from Lombardo's thunderous drumming and the dual guitarists, who properly honor the inimitable Van Halen axeman with some smokin' fretwork. Check it out above via YouTube.

"The Night They Came Home" will be available on CD + Blu-Ray, CD + DVD, VHS and digitally on June 11th via Ipecac Recordings. You can get the CD + Blu-Ray edition via our shop.
