Grungy "puke rock" act drops industrial-tinged visual for 'unReal' standout

Baptized in the self-coined genre of "puke rock," My Ticket Home evolved their sound dramatically on 2017's unReal and risked alienating some of their fan base in the process. "We knew that we were gonna lose fans and a lot of people weren't gonna get it," Nick Giumenti told us last year. But the risk came with reward: unReal features a wide-ranging collection of songs textured by influences such as Pantera and Hum to create a thrilling combination of melodic beauty and abrasive noise.

Today, they're premiering their new video for "Flypaper," one of the record's more aggro tracks. The visual was directed by Giumenti, and captures the vibe of My Ticket Home's Nineties heroes while also injecting things with their own spin. The song's gritty chugs were built for the industrial space/woman's head that the band finds themselves playing in, with Giumenti's voice gliding between a creepy lilt and a furious snarl.
