See Neurosis Singer Steve Von Till's Haunting "The Old Straight Track" Performance

Stunning portion of "A Remote Wilderness" concert film previously seen only by Roadburn Redux viewers

In 2021, Neurosis guitarist-vocalist Steve Von Till performed his 2020 solo album, 'No Wilderness Deep Enough,' in full along with several older acoustic cuts and spoken-word poetry for a special Roadburn Redux-exclusive performance dubbed "A Remote Wilderness." In anticipation of Von Till's upcoming summer 2022 tour, Revolver will be proudly premiering the entire concert film on our channel for the whole world to see.

Earlier this year, we gave viewers a preview with the stark and breathtaking "Indifferent Eyes," and today (May 27th) we're offering up another portion of "A Remote Wilderness" that sees Von Till and his cast of talented bandmates playing the song "The Old Straight Track," another cut from his 2020 solo album, No Wilderness Deep Enough. It's a haunting and dynamically rich performance that slowly unfolds both musically and emotionally. Watch above via YouTube.

In addition to the Von Till, who wrote the music and the lyrics, sings and plays both piano and guitar, the performance includes Dave French (synthesizer, percussion, guitar), cellist Lori Goldston (who performed live with Nirvana from 1993-1994), David Lutz (synthesizer), Eric Padget (french horn) and Oli Eshlemen (pedal steel). The audio was recorded by Chris Rahm at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, Washington, on April 1st 2021, while Bobby Cochran handled videography, lighting and editing with assistance from Steven Dangerfield. The whole thing was mixed by Von Till and French, and the beautiful handwritten titles come courtesy of Niela Von Till.

This summer,  fans throughout the U.S. will finally be able to witness these songs in-person during Von Till's upcoming solo tour. The 27-date run begins July 1st in Minneapolis and will hit both coasts of the country before concluding in Boise, ID, on August 16th.

Von Till's band for the upcoming tour features cellist Helen Money — who will also be serving as support with her own solo set — French (synthesizer, guitar, percussion) and Sanford Parker (keyboards, synths). Tickets for the month-and-a-half long trek go on sale this Friday March 4th at 10 a.m. local time and will be available for purchase here.
