See Nikki Sixx Join Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson for Raucous "Helter Skelter" Cover

Rockers teamed onstage at New Year's Eve Ozzfest event in Los Angeles

Last night for New Year's Eve, Ozzy Osbourne hosted a special New Year's Eve Ozzfest event at Los Angeles venue The Forum, and among the evening's many performances, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx teamed up to perform the Beatles' 1968 proto-metal classic "Helter Skelter." Manson and Zombie released a studio version of the cover back in July, which Zombie described to Rolling Stone as "heavier, weirder and more groove-oriented."

Sixx wasn't on the bill for the event, and his surprise appearance led to some interesting choreography between himself and current Rob Zombie/former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5, as you can see in the video below around the 2:00 mark.

The loose, raucous cover took place as part of Zombie's set, with screens projecting hellish imagery and footage of Charles Manson, who believed the song was secret code for the race war he preached to his followers before his 1971 conviction on charges of first-degree murder.

Other acts on last night's Ozzfest lineup included Korn's Jonathan Davis, Body Count, and Ozzy himself, who took the stage for the final countdown to midnight.
