See Nirvana Rehearse in Bedroom at Krist Novoselic's Mom's House in 1988

Kurt Cobain and Novoselic jam with pre-Dave Grohl drummer Chad Channing in earliest days of band

As any fan of Nirvana knows, before the Melvins' Buzz Osborne introduced Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic to Dave Grohl, the band was rounded out by drummer Chad Channing, who played his first show with the group in May 1988. He drummed with the incipient Nirvana 'til 1990, including on their debut single, "Love Buzz" — a cover of the Dutch rock band Shocking Blue — and on most of their 1989 debut album Bleach, which saw the Melvin's Dale Crover step in for three tracks, "Floyd the Barber", "Paper Cuts" and "Downer."

In rare footage above and below, you can see a very young Cobain, Novoselic and Channing woodshed some early Nirvana tunes in a small bedroom in the bassist's mom's house. The video was shot by Krist's younger brother, Robert.
