See Nirvana's Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic Reunite for "Molly Lips" Cover in Seattle

Novoselic joined Foo Fighters onstage for live rendition of Vaselines' 'Incesticide' cut

Giants in the Trees — the new roots-rock band from Krist Novoselic — opened for the Foo Fighters at Seattle's Safeco Field Saturday night (September 1st), which was too natural an opportunity to pass up for him and Grohl to team up for a mini-Nirvana reunion. They did not disappoint — the bassist joined the Foos during their headlining set, and the duo revisited the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips," a song made famous by its inclusion on Nirvana's 1992 mostly-covers album Incesticide.

"You haven't aged a day," Grohl joked while welcoming Novoselic onstage, reported The Seattle Times. "This is an old song, we haven't done this song together in a long time," he added before they kicked into "Molly's Lips." According to Rolling Stone, the performance was just the second time Novoselic and the Foo Fighters have covered the song live together, the first being a September 2015 take at a concert in the Vaselines' homeland of Scotland.
