Ozzy's first onstage appearance since 2019

This could be the closest we'll ever get to another Black Sabbath reunion. Today (August 8th), Ozzy Osbourne made a surprise appearance to close out the Commonwealth Games in his — and the band's — hometown of Birmingham, England. The Prince of Darkness was joined by Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, as well as two members of Sabbath's last touring lineup, Tommy Clufetos (drums) and Adam Wakeman (on bass), for a fireworks-and-pyro-studded romp through the heavy- metal godfathers' classic "Paranoid," which you can watch above. The group also played an extremely shortened version of "Iron Man."

The performance came at the end of a closing ceremony that celebrated the history, culture and music of Birmingham and the West Midlands, in front of a live audience of more than 30,000. It marked not only a partial Sabbath reunion, but also Ozzy's first public performance since he joined Post Malone and Travis Scott onstage at the 47th annual American Music Awards in 2019.

Ozzy and Iommi recently reunited in the studio to record two songs for the singer's upcoming solo LP, Patient Number 9: "Degradation Rules" and "No Escape From Now." The album is available for order on vinyl and CD at the Revolver shop.
