Things are heating up in Pantera's world. Earlier today (November 26th), original bassist Rex Brown shared his first comments on the Nineties groove-metal juggernaut's imminent return to the stage. Now, the band has followed with a dramatic new teaser video featuring apparent footage from the rehearsals for the group's comeback tour. Watch below.
Now comprised of core members Brown and vocalist Philip Anselmo joined by longtime friends Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) and Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Pantera are set to play their first shows in over 20 years, starting on December 2nd at Mexico's Hell & Heaven Metal Fest. According to Wylde, Benante and a previous video posted to Pantera's socials, the tour is not intended as a "reunion" but as a tribute to the band's fans, legacy and, particularly, founding brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, who passed in 2004 and 2018, respectively.
