See A Perfect Circle's Creepy 2D Hologram Video for "The Contrarian"

Unsettling clip features footage from groundbreaking 'Eat the Elephant' companion film

A Perfect Circle have shared a new clip, for the song "The Contrarian," from the holographic film that accompanied their latest record Eat the Elephant. Originally exclusive to the limited-edition deluxe box-set version of the album, the unsettling, interactive video features an array of multicolored creepy-crawlies, eerie effigies and a puppet master bearing an uncanny resemblance to president Donald Trump. It follows a similar 2D video for "TalkTalk" released by the band last month.

Additionally, the band have expanded their North American trek behind Eat the Elephant to include an appearance at this year's Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans, as well as headlining dates across the east coast. Check out an updated itinerary here.

Revolver recently caught up with Steven Sebring — renowned photographer, Sundance award-winning filmmaker and producer of DSR Media Lab and the creator of A Perfect Circle's hologram visuals — for an interview about his work with Maynard James Keenan, Billy Howerdel and Co. "It's about a 12-year-old girl — [like] 'Is it through a child's eyes?' Or something like that?" he said of the Eat the Elephant full-album video. "Then you see in the film, she grows up and she's seeing this whole vision of Eat the Elephant through the lens of a hologram of her eyes — and so, that was a collaboration when it came to creating the Contrarian [character], the actual human, and how she interacts with it."

A Perfect Circle appear on the cover of Revolver's April/May 2018 issue, out now. Check out our in-depth feature on the band, which also appears in the new issue.
