Alt-metal mutants gearing up to hit stage after 12-year hiatus

We haven't been shy about how excited we are for Mudvayne's impending reunion. After 12 years apart, the shape-shifting alt-metal crew are set to return to the stage together for four festival dates throughout the fall, and today they've shared some artful photos of what appears to be their first rehearsal together in over a decade.

In typical Mudvayne form, the band shared eight cryptic photos on their Instagram with the esoteric caption, "`\ReHeRsAl:00.00.01`." It's unclear exactly what they mean by that, but it seems very likely that the "00.00.01" is indicating that the shots were snapped during their first band practice since they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2010 — or at least their first practice for these upcoming shows.

The whole gang — vocalist Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matthew McDonough — are present in the practice space, and they appear to be focused on relearning classic songs from the five records they released throughout the 2000s.

Check out all the photos below via the band's Instagram page.

Later this year, the Mudvayne will perform at Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival (September 10th-12th in Mansfield, Ohio), Louder Than Life (September 23rd-26th in Louisville, Kentucky), Aftershock (October 07th-10th in Sacramento, California) and Welcome to Rockville (November 11th-14th in Daytona Beach, Florida).
