Controversial group drops unnerving visual ahead of European tour

Almost exactly a year ago, Polish death-metal band Decapitated released their seventh studio album Anticult — a year that saw them arrested in California while on tour and charged with kidnapping and rape in Washington state, charges that were eventually dropped. Today, the quartet has issued its first new creative offering since those events, a Łukasz Jaszak–directed video for "Kill the Cult," one of Anticult's standout tracks. The band is at its most direct on the cut, wasting very little time getting right down to aggressive riffage that moves at a mile a second. Lyrically, the band takes aim at Christianity, with vocalist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka growling, "The cult of puppets, idols, forged in the artful hand" over the huge guitar work.

"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," guitarist Vogg says. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"

Decapitated are set to hit the road in Europe next month (August 2018). See tour dates here.
