See Poppy Hang With Death in Surreal New "Fill the Crown" Video

"Poison the family/Make the children cry," post-genre artist sings

Internet-bred provocateur Poppy is gearing up to drop her boundary-annihilating new album I Disagree on January 10th via Sumerian Records, and she's been leading up to the big release with a slew of phantasmagorical visuals, from the ballet-meets-Slipknot madness of "Scary Mask" to the Kill Bill–esque kickass-athon "BLOODMONEY" to her jaw-dropping appearance on WWE NXT with wrestler Io Shirai. Today (December 11th), the post-genre artist has offered up the new song "Fill the Crown" and its cinematic music video. Following Poppy through wide-screen landscapes where she hangs with Death himself, the clip is set in alternate worlds and features allusions to classic arthouse films. (Is that Death from Ingmar Berman's The Seventh Seal or from Bill & Ted?) "Poison the children," she croons over a chugging riff, demonic backing vocals echoing her words. "No peace of mind/Poison the family/Make the children cry." Watch and listen above.
