See pro video of METALLICA playing "Through the Never" for first time on M72 tour

Last performed in April 2022

On Sunday, May 28th, Metallica played the second of two nights at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany, the third city and sixth date of the band's massive M72 World Tour, which kicked off in Amsterdam in April.

Making the performance extra special, James, Kirk, Rob and Lars broke out Black Album deep cut "Through the Never," playing it for the first time on this run, and for the first time since April 2022. Today (June 6th) Metallica offered up badass professionally filmed footage of the performance. Watch above.

For the M72 tour, heavy metal's biggest band are playing each location twice, and have promised "no repeats" of the same setlist, so May 28th's configuration of songs was significantly different than what fans witnessed the first night in Hamburg or earlier on the trek in Amsterdam and Paris.

Next up, Metallica hit Gothenburg, Sweden, on Friday, June 16th and Sunday, June 18th.
