"Atmospheres" is first single off band's new 'Shapes' EP

Influenced by bands including Northlane, Periphery, Animals as Leaders and Dream Theater, San Jose, California-based prog-metal trio Constructs are gearing up to release their debut EP, Shapes, on November 6th. The group's name is based on the idea that "everything in our reality is — in some way, shape, or form — a construct, whether it be thought patterns, society or the way we interact with each other and the world," as the band explains on its Facebook page. The lead single from the EP — and its accompanying video — both aim to represent this premise.

"Like any good story, 'Atmospheres' is a journey of twists and turns that describes the momentum of life," guitarist Trayen Burke says. "The song and music video include a wide-ranging blend of soundscapes and imagery that we believe represent Constructs in both artistic vision and individuality. Everything around us is, after all, a construct."
