"I Would Die 4 U" gets metal treatment via 'Two Minutes to Late Night'

Everyone's favorite heavy metal variety show, Two Minutes to Late Night, have returned with another edition of their beloved "Bedroom Cover" series. For this installment, Jordan Olds, a.k.a. Two Minutes' corpse-painted master of ceremonies Gwarsenio Hall, rounded up Lamb of God's Randy Blythe, The Dillinger Escape Plan's Dimitri Minakakis, Quicksand's Walter Schreifels and 17 (!) other musicians from the hardcore and metal world to bang out a metal cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U."

Previous Two Minutes guests have put their spin on everyone from Pantera and AC/DC to Bjork and Kate Bush, so it's about time that Gwarsenio got a gang together to pay homage to The Purple One. In addition to the aforementioned names, the loaded roster for this includes members of Harms Way, Integrity, Gouge Away, The Bled, Indecision, God's Hate, The Armed, Ithaca, War on Women, Modern Life is War, Filth is Eternal, The HIRS Collective, Ache, Healthy Scratch, Tyrannosaur, and Dogmeat.

Given the musical sphere those artists stem from, it's not surprising to hear that this version of the Purple Rain bop was reupholstered into a metalcore banger. Blythe takes the lead on the verse vocals, but the titular hook was transformed into an epic gang chant that would spur the greatest pile-up of all time if it was ever performed live.
