Nothing shall go unslashed

Red Fang's music videos are the stuff of legend, gleefully inventive shorts full of combative LARPers, beer-guzzling zombies and vehicular destruction. To herald the Portland group's long-awaited fifth album, Arrows, Red Fang have unleashed their latest cinematic masterpiece, for the LP's raucous title track. The clip sees the band collaborating again with director Whitey McConnaughy and subtly nodding to their classic "Wires" video, which has amassed over 7 million views. As for "Arrows," let's put it this way, no one has ever had this much fun with a katana — not even Toshiro Mifune. Watch and listen above.

"[Whitey's] way of presenting us really works," Red Fang guitarist David Sullivan enthused of the band's relationship with McConnaughy . "That first video he did for us for 'Prehistoric Dog' gave us a big jumpstart as far as the band getting popular. And we love working with him."

Arrows is due out on June 4th via Relapse Records and is available for pre-order now in both physical formats — including an insane Red Fang x Psycho Las Vegas limited-edition Texas Hold'em themed box set — and digital formats. It'll be the band's first album since 2016's Only Ghosts.

"WOW! We are SO EXCITED to finally release this record to the world! We finished the album way back in December 2019 and then ... something happened that is not worth discussing ...," vocalist-bassist Aaron Beam commented. "Making this record felt totally loose and easy. It felt like we were just doing whatever the fuck we wanted, and not overthinking anything. That attitude reminded me a lot of what it felt like to make Murder the Mountains. The result doesn't sound anything like MTM, but it has more of that vibe."
