See Rush's Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson Reunite to Play "Closer to the Heart" With Primus

At the South Park 25th anniversary concert — and with creator Matt Stone on the drums

Last night, Rush co-founders Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee reunited onstage at the South Park: 25th Anniversary Concert, where they played through their beloved song "Closer to the Heart" with a little help from Primus and South Park co-creator Matt Stone on the kit. Naturally, it was a pretty momentous occasion, given Rush played their final show in 2015 before formally breaking up in 2018 — so Lifeson and Lee don't get together to jam old favorites often.

Additionally, Primus are famously some of the world's biggest Rush fans (they covered A Farewell to Kings in its entirety on a tour earlier this year), so seeing Les Claypool up there jamming alongside his idols is a pretty special moment.
