Scowl are one of the fastest-rising bands in hardcore, and a lot of that has to do with their completely nutty live shows. From tearing up hardcore festivals like Sound and Fury and FYA to venturing outside their genre to tour with Limp Bizkit, the Santa Cruz band fronted by the ferocious Kat Moss never fail to make people go buck-wild, and over the weekend they played one of their craziest shows yet — at a fucking Sonic Drive-In.
With just a few hours of advanced notice, Scowl and fellow rising hardcore crew Gel played a gig in the drive-in section of a New Jersey Sonic, the fast food restaurant chain that lets customers chill in their car while they eat their food. There were no fried goodies that night, only a slew of rippin' hardcore bands (Exhibtion, Chemical Fix and Phantom also performed) playing to a crowd of lunatic punkers setting off fireworks in the pit and doing side-to-side's on concrete.
Check out footage of the crazy-ass action above and below. The gig was organized by the 4333 collective and you can check out their Instagram for future Sonic rippers, and other tri-state DIY events.
