See Slayer Talk Early Tours in Camaro, U-Haul Trailer: "No Idea How We Survived"

Tom Araya, Kerry King recount gnarly road stories in part two of retrospective video series ahead of farewell tour

Slayer is done. We've had the past few months to mourn their end and look forward to their final tour, and all along the way the group has been releasing new content into the world to commemorate their career. Today, they've released the second part of their Early Days docu-series, chronicling the formation of the band and their rise to heavy metal prominence. This episode centers around Slayer as a touring unit in the early days, and all the chaos that went with being a young band that barely made enough to scrape by. Bassist/singer Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King recount touring in a Camaro, getting drunk at grimy venues, and having to tighten up their act quick.

"We slept in basements…in storage rooms. I have no idea how we survived those trips," says Araya. Watch the full video above.

General admission tickets for Slayer's final North American dates, featuring support from Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament, are available now. Find a full itinerary here.
