See STATIC-X play NINE INCH NAILS cover live for first time, debut new Xer0 mask

Kicking off the Rise of the Machines tour

This past Saturday (February 25th), Static-X kicked off their "Rise of the Machines" tour in San Francisco. Main support act Fear Factory — who were set to play their first show with new vocalist Milo Silvestro — were unable to make it due to snowy weather, but Dope and Mushroomhead opened the proceedings as planned.

As for the headliners, they were on the road celebrating the belated 20th anniversary of the "evil disco" group's second album, 2001's Machine, and while they didn't play the LP in its entirety, they did break out plenty of standout cuts. They also performed their recently released cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Terrible Lie" live for the first time (the studio version features vocals from the late Wayne Static), and they debuted frontman Xer0's new, Eddie Yang-designed cyborg mask.

Check out fan-shot video above and below, plus the full setlist, courtesy of setlist.fm. The tour continues tonight in Portland, where Fear Factory are expected to finally link up with the others.
