See STEEL PANTHER wow 'America's Got Talent' judges with hair-metal lunacy

Parody band earned four "Yes" votes from Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, others

Somehow, hair-metal parody stalwarts Steel Panther made their way into the latest season of America's Got Talent. The entertainment competition show typically features relative nobodies getting their first opportunities to perform in front of national audiences, which is why it's both bizarre and hilarious that Steel Panther, who've been a band for over 20 years and have released six albums, got a shot to audition before Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, SofĂa Vergara and Heidi Klum.

What's even wilder is that the band fronted by the foul-mouthed Michael Starr not only wowed the packed crowd, but also wooed the four judges into giving them round-table "yes"'s, allowing them to advance to the next round.

Steel Panther appeared on May 30th premiere of America's Got Talent's 18th season, where they trotted out onstage and immediately got a standing ovation from the audience. "Standing ovation and you haven't done anything," the notoriously stuffy Cowell commented.

From there, the glam-metal rascals dove into their song "Eyes of a Panther," and the four celebrities they were trying to win over went totally bananas.

""Everything about that audition for me was just brilliant," Cowell glowed. "You're so talented. It's so clear that you've been doing this a long time because you don't get good like this overnight."

The other three judges chimed in with similarly effusive praise, and everyone gave them an enthusiastic "Yes," which means Steel Panther will be advancing to the next round and remaining on the show for at least another episode.
