See A Storm of Light, Ex-Neurosis Member's Dizzying New Electro-Ambient IIVII Video

Josh Graham explores hypnotic soundscapes, nocturnal urban scenes in "The Body Compels" clip

Whether via audio (A Storm of Light, Red Sparowes, Battle of Mice, etc) or visual media (Neurosis, Soundgarden, etc), Josh Graham's work is built to paint a picture — but where Graham shines the brightest is when he can lean on both things at once. For his latest release as IIVII, Obsidian (released February 2019 via Consouling Sounds), the musician reworked his original score for the behind-the-scenes documentary on the Darren Aronofsky 2017 film Mother!

On "The Body Compels," the video for which we're premiering here today (March 18th), Graham gives arresting visual form to his heavily atmospheric soundscape: the clip unfolds presenting stunning areal shots of nocturnal cityscapes, interspersed with surprisingly intimate moments of people illuminated only by the glow of their phone screens until the swarm of humanity reaches a fever-pitch through stunning time-lapse shots.
