Superjoint (the Phil Anselmo-fronted band formerly known as Superjoint Ritual) have shared professional footage capturing a rowdy performance of "The Alcoholik" from their headlining show at New Orleans' House of Blues last September. Shot by Mike Holderbeast, the clip follows a 4K live video for "Fuck Your Enemy" filmed at the same concert and released earlier this month. Both tracks appear on Superjoint's 2002 debut Use Once and Destroy.
Anselmo just released a new album with his solo band the Illegals, Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue, and is currently recuperating from a recent back surgery with the aim of getting back on the road as soon as possible. He sat down for an interview with Revolver one day before going under the knife to discuss immigration, guns, the press and the possibility of new Kerry King collaborations. He also gave an overview of his latest endeavor: a dark-wave-flavored band called En Minor, featuring members of Superjoint and Down.
"The core band is me, [Superjoint guitarist] Kevin Bond, [Down drummer] Jimmy Bower, Steve Taylor and [Down guitarist] Bobby Landgraf, but we're gonna need some extra musicians at some point," he said. "The album has 16 songs, and it's called When the Cold Truth Has Worn Its Miserable Welcome Out. If you decide to throw a party one night and your house is packed but you get tired, just pop this En Minor record on and your place will fucking empty in seconds. It's a bummer."
