See System of a Down's Powerful New "Genocidal Humanoidz" Video

Co-directed by band's own Shavo Odadjian

Armenian-American alt-metal rabble-rousers System of a Down have premiered the new music video for their recently released rager "Genocidal Humanoidz," which, along with "Protect the Land," represents the group's first new music in 15 years. Bassist Shavo Odadjian co-directed the video with Adam Mason, mixing high-octane performance footage with stark, vivid animation. The visual made its debut following a livestreamed fund-raising event the band hosted to raise funds for Artsakh and Armenian soldiers injured amid 2020's Nagorno-Karabakh war.

It was that conflict that inspired SOAD to reunite in the studio late last year to record and surprise-release the two benefit songs, both of which were written by guitarist Daron Malakian. Proceeds from the singles were donated to help the Artsakh/Armenian people.
