See Tenacious D's Jack Black, Kyle Gass Play Rare Song "5 Needs" in Quarantine

Performed as part of "COVID Is No Joke," a virtual comedy fest for COVID aid with Americares

If you're a true Tenacious D diehard — like Slipknot's Corey Taylor — then you should be familiar with the song "5 Needs," which was originally performed by the acoustic-metal duo in their cameo in the 1996 film Bio-Dome and was later served up as an iTunes pre-order bonus track to the 2012 album Rize of the Fenix. In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the resulting international crisis, Jack Black and Kyle Gass have resurfaced the rarity, playing it while in quarantine as part of "COVID Is No Joke," a virtual comedy fest for COVID aid with Americares. The song, in its studio recorded version, has also been made available across digital streaming platforms with proceeds going to the disaster relief and global health organization. Watch the hilarious performance above, and read the lyrics to the song, via Genius, below.

"5 Needs" lyrics:
[Intro]
This one goes to all the disciples
Out there on the journey that we call life
You know there's only 5 needs
And Kyle and I have compiled 'em
And awoken them into song
A song that we like to call "The 5 Needs"

[*sung*]
First you need the planet
Earth beneath your feet
You couldn't live an instant without that
Then you need the air
Oxygen to breathe
You couldn't live five minutes without that
Then you need the water
The icy cold water

Now, you need some love (love)
You need some love (love)

We only wanted to rock your world (We hoped that we rocked your world)
The fifth need is to rock your world (We really wanna rock your world)
It comes before food!
Ohhh
