Houston, Texas, may not seem like a natural birthplace for a grim, frostbitten black-metal band, but rising quartet Necrofier are well on their way to changing that impression. The group features members of Insect Warfare, Oceans of Slumber, and Venomous Maximus and plays gnarly, melodic black metal in the classic vein of Dissection and Mayhem. With just one release to their name so far, 2018's Visions in Fire EP, they've already toured with the likes of Goatwhore and Uada, showcased at SXSW, headlined hometown shows and been enlisted to perform at Maryland Deathfest 2020. Their new music video, for Visions in Fire standout "Raise the Dead," captures the band's savage and glorious vibe — shadowy, cryptic and raw. Check it out above.
