See Two Bloodthirsty Grave Robbers Make a Killing in Exhumed's Gruesome New Video

Death-metal mainstays' "Night Work" visual serves up murder and madness inspired by true story

Gore-metal mainstays Exhumed recently announced their sixth full-length, Death Revenge. The 12-track LP, due out October 13th via Relapse, is loosely based on the true, terrifying story of William Burke and William Hare, two Scots who went on a murder spree in the 1820s, killing 16 people and selling their corpses to anatomist Robert Knox for dissection purposes. If you're unfamiliar with the tale and don't feel like firing up Wikipedia, the California crushers' new clip for "Night Work" should do the trick. Directed by Jeff Sisson, the gloomy video follows two grave robbers out to make a literal killing; they stalk about the city, methodically slaying men, women and children before delivering their wares to a mad doctor, who giggles with glee at all the fresh specimens.

"We are extremely stoked to present this cinematic clip that brings you deep into the world of the Death Revenge storyline," Exhumed say of the "Night Work" clip. "Director Jeff Sisson really outdid himself capturing the vibe and violence of the record and the concept, and this is the first video we've done that really fulfills the horror-movie vision we've always wanted to capture with our music." The band concludes with a warning, or perhaps an invitation: "Spoiler alert: it's a tale of grave-robbery, murder and madness, so sit back, turn off the lights, lock your doors and get ready to undertake some night work with us."
