See Vampire Band Play Goth House Show in Thou's New "The Changeling Prince" Video

Visual for 'Magus' single pays homage to 'The Exorcist,' 'Interview With the Vampire' and more

Directed by Thou bassist Mitch Wells, the Louisiana sludge-punk band's new video for "The Changeling Prince" takes place at what looks to be a particularly goth house show, where a band (including new Thou drummer Tyler Coburn appears, but no other members of the actual group) dressed in vampiric outfits runs through the lead single from the forthcoming Magus LP, due via Sacred Bones on August 31st. Members of the band look on, and members of the Body, Lingua Ignota and more make cameos in the video, which takes influence from everything from The Exorcist to Interview With the Vampire. The audience sways and thrashes in slo-mo to the burning hot track, a cut that takes a mildly progressive yet solidly Louisiana sludge swing for it's nearly eight-minute duration.

Thou have very few dates coming up on the calendar, but one of those is part of a Revolver-presented gig in NYC at the Knitting Factory. The show will be the band's record release party for Magus, as well as the Uniform release party for The Long Walk, due on August 17th, also via Sacred Bones. New Jersey's Sunrot opens, and tickets are available here.
