Deathcore champs pare back the heavy on latest 'Kin' single

Revolver has teamed with Whitechapel for an exclusive splatter vinyl variant of their new album, Kin. It's limited to 500 copies — order yours before they're gone!

We're only a couple weeks away from the long-awaited release of Whitechapel's new album, Kin, and what we've heard of it so far has been brutal. The Tennessee deathcore champs brought the heavy on "Lost Boy" and "A Bloodsoaked Symphony," but their latest offering, "Orphan," pares back the chugs to reveal the band's tender and emotional side.

Frontman Phil Bozeman has been experimenting with clean singing as far back as 2016's Mark of the Blade, but the way he's crooning on "Orphan" is even sleeker and more melodically present than the catchiest moments on 2019's The Valley. It's a straight-up power ballad, and although you wouldn't necessarily expect that sort of thing to land from a deathcore band like Whitechapel, they figured out a way to make it work.

"'Orphan' represents the battle of accepting what reality has given me within the story of Kin," Bozeman commented. "And the battle between me and my alternate reality's realm."

Kin will arrive in full on October 29th via Metal Blade Records and Revolver has an exclusive, limited edition 2LP vinyl pressing on unique splatter wax. Only 500 were made, so score yours before they're gone!
